Known to be over 4500 years old, maybe older, Stonehenge is a legendary World Heritage site. No visit to the British Isles could be considered complete without a visit to this unique pre-historic site.
The reason for its construction remains unclear. We speculate that it might have been a site of astronomical importance, or even a site of religious significance or even human sacrifice. Whatever the purpose the questions are still being asked. Stonehenge remains a fascinating enigma, a place of wonder.
How was it constructed and why?
Who did it?
Where did it the stones come from?
Some of these questions are slowly being answered as the research continues.
We take you on a leisurely journey of around two hours from London. You can begin your Stonehenge experience with a look around the Visitor Centre with its detailed explanations and visual displays before you walk close to the magical stones themselves.
Then after some lunch in a traditional English pub, we take a drive through some beautiful English countryside arriving back in London in the late afternoon just in time for dinner or a theatre visit.
